I want to know if there is a number to call or a web site to go to to get my name off the auto callers that political candidates use. Three times yesterday this Virginia area code came up on my caller ID. Three times, I told the kids to let it go to the machine. I know many people in Virginia but most do not live in the 703 area code so had no clue who it was and was willing to call back if they left a message. No messages.
Today, the number came up again. This time there was a message left. It was an auto calling system with a pre-recorded “vote for me” blurb from Hillary Clinton. I am now annoyed because there is no way to tell these systems that you don’t want calls. My number has been put on the government’s do not call list as has my mobile phone number. Why is it that a political campaign can buy a list or receive from a local board of elections a list and utilize it the way they please?
