Normally, today would be a review of the last month but this coming month has my full attention. Might have something to do with yesterday’s 50F temp and turning down the heat, forgetting to turn it up and a 21F morning. I’ve since warmed up but have a lot on my mind than any goal progress I made in February.
While it is not Susan’s birthday – the cake pic is from a Skills USA competition, today would have been my father’s 78th birthday. I have no doubt he would still, if he were alive, be working for Gannett or still traveling around the state and East coast on fire service business. With the seventh anniversary of his death in two days, I’m usually good until the beginning of April. Then, the anniversary of the ACA shooting here in Binghamton – the first big local news story after his death – comes and it hits hard.
On to more positive things. My second half marathon of the year is in 11 days. I’ll be running on the Biltmore Estate in what will soon be my new home of Asheville, North Carolina. I cannot wait. You’ll find me testing Periscope in the next week so as to be able to scope during my race. I’ll also be using the hashtag #RunAVL so please join me in doing so if you’ll be running there as well.
This coming weekend is Binghamton’s foray into fame with its St Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade is always the first Saturday in March so bag pipe groups from NYC can come for the parade. It is also the second running of the Parade Day Mile. Sunday will be my soon-to-be daughter-in-law’s bridal shower so a busy weekend coming up and then, I’m heading south next week.
March is a welcome month!!!
