Disclaimer: I received a free package of Hemp Hearts through my association with Fit Approach. The product came directly from Manitoba Harvest. All opinions are my own.
I have to admit my package of hemp hearts from Manitoba Harvest have sat on my kitchen table for too long. I wanted to create something unique with them but my mind just isn’t working towards unique at the moment.
Hemp is a fantastic, healthy food source. I admit I get harassed by my brother-in-law for liking these hemp hearts but I’ve made him see the light. They taste great and provide a lot of nutrients. Hemp hearts contain omegas, are a vegetarian source of protein, and contain magnesium.
I have managed two different uses so far. I’m currently trying to work these into my Thanksgiving dinner menu as well.
Some additional uses I see are:
- including in homemade granola
- including in smoothies
- stirring into a green, or other, fresh juice
- topping homemade macaroni and cheese with them
You can check Manitoba Harvest for recipes or see what I did below.
