Dr. Scholl’s Active Series Insoles – Product Review

Just a heads up! I received this product for review free of charge from Influenster.com. All opinions, as always, are my own.

Even though I am an avid Birkenstock wearer these days, mention Dr. Scholl’s and my mind goes to sandals I wouldn’t be caught dead in as a teen. Well, the brand has grown and changed as I have since my teenage years.

After going through a pre-survey with Influenster, I was very excited to find that I had been chosen to receive a pair of the Active Series Insoles. I have high hopes of resurrecting a pair of running shoes that the outers and bottom sole were still in good shape but the insole was shot. I could not wait to get my hands on these insoles.

When the insoles arrived, I quickly read the instructions. Trust me if I can do the following, anyone can do it. I took the insoles out of their packaging.

Next I removed the insoles from the old pair of running shoes. I lined the insoles up – please excuse the look of the old insole as I ran a lot of miles in these shoes with the original insoles in them. I then trimmed the Active Series insole.

Next up was to put the Active Series insole into my shoes.

Since putting the insoles in my old Brooks PureFlows, I have run about 25 miles in them. They wear and feel great inside when running. I am not so into them when outside running. I really have had hit and miss comfort in running with them. I do, though, love having them in my shoes when I have one of those days where I have to walk a lot. I wore these the day I photographed the marathon. I was on my feet on pavement for about five hours and my feet never once bothered me.

I think I would say these are hit and miss. Maybe if I had put them in new shoes, I would have been happy running with them. Problem for me is new shoes are perfect for running the way they are. Would I recommend the Dr. Scholl’s Active Series? You bet. Top that off with I actually had someone recommend them to me before I could get out that I was trying them.
