As I’m sure I’ve said a million – okay, maybe only ten – times before, I love Addison Cole’s Sweet with Heat series. I have most, if not all, of them. They are just the right combination of heat that I am not left wanting to know what happens behind closed doors. Yet, they are sweet enough I do not have a problem recommending them to younger friends, my daughters or friends from church.
In Sweet Escape at Bayside, we get to see the long awaited wedding of Desiree and Rick but the biggest surprise is when Desi and Violet’s mother shows up. She has a plus one that is someone from Violet’s past and I don’t know, other than Violet and Andre, who knows at the beginning. Not wanting to ruin her sister’s big day, Violet tries her best to ignore her mother and her mother’s date during the wedding but eventually leaves the reception to try and get her head on straight.
I really love Violet’s story because she had always led a nomadic life up until I met her in Desi’s book, Sweet Love at Bayside. In the two years since, Violet has stayed in one place and put down roots. Then, a part of her nomadic life come into her roots. What is she to do when she and Andre get back together and he is leaving? Can she leave her sister and the roots she has put down to become less rooted?
