When obsession crosses that thin line…The crime scene was similar to the others — but was Alex staring at something even more disturbing than the work of a noted serial killer?
Alex and her partner, Nick, piece together a convoluted puzzle. But how many pieces are missing?
Threats hit from all directions, including the legal kind. Just what Alex needs.
The deaths, brutal and violent beyond belief, show a pattern. And then another pattern. Is this the work of a copycat killer? If only it were that easy to figure out.
The video hits. It rocks Alex’s core — her future forever altered. She pushes forward…only because the dead have no voice.
And just when Alex can take no more, her world is shattered like never before. It just can’t be. But it is, and she’s all alone.
Nothing will stop her from ending this obsession. No matter who gets in her way, there will be one final death.
Will Alex live to see the next day?

A member of International Thriller Writers, John writes novels full of electrifying suspense — the same types of books he has loved to read since before he could shave.
When he’s not writing, he chases his youth on bike or a basketball court, all while making mental notes of people and societies across the land.

I have to admit the beginning of this book had me not sure I wanted to read it. It was like the suspense in a thriller movie where you pause and then let the movie roll again. I would read a page or so and have to put the book down. The tension and suspense built right from the beginning and had me on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately, I can’t cover my eyes while trying to read.
I don’t know what it is about books set in places I’ve been. I’m a country girl but there are two large cities I love – Boston and San Francisco. To know where the places are that are talked about in a book makes it come more alive in my mind. I may not have been to every suburb used in the Alex Troutt books but I have at least seen signs for them and have an idea where people are going.
This book tore me apart. I felt so bad for Alex because of everything that happens. You really need to read the book. I don’t want to have any spoilers here. Just know that Alex is in for a bumpy personal ride in this book. That is another thing I like about the Alex Troutt books – while the mystery is a “work” issue, there is always something personal that is also an issue.
I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
