I truly love Melissa Foster’s writing. This book, set on the shores of Sugar Lake, does not disappoint.
Zane and Willow are very much relate-able characters. Willow is hard working as she runs her own bakery shop. When you are your own boss, it is difficult to turn down that hard customer. Then, to show up to a meeting and find that customer is the boy whom you gave your virginity to makes the start of a new relationship with him even more difficult.
When Willow agrees to help Zane, as he helped her before she went off to college, the story gets a bit messy. Zane doesn’t want a quick love making session. He wants something lengthier. He is trying to clean up his image. He wants a fiancee.
What happens next surprised even me! Pick up a copy of The Real Thing and see if you can figure out what is going to go on next. I guarantee it will surprise you.
