Salt Springs Trail Race Preview

Last year I was fairly upset as I managed to get to the preview of the Salt Springs Trail Race but I was in California Labor Day weekend so did not make it to the actual race or the rest of the festivities that day at the park.

There are two trail races – 2.5 miles and 5.5 miles. All runners run the same 2.5 miles to start and the longer race adds on more miles and additional trails. The first mile is uphill and on a dirt road mostly.

The course is a fairly technical trail race. The race director had the courses already signed for us on Saturday when we ran the preview. At times you will be following arrows.

At other times you will need to follow the blazes on trees.

I strongly recommend y’all come out and race on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and then stick around for the rest of the festivities in the park.
