Saturday night I went out with a good friend from high school to hear another high school friend and the band he plays in at Number 5 restaurant. The original plan was to go to this restaurant and listen for a while, then go to another place to hear another band. We never left Number 5.
Straight Up, the band that was playing, had great vocals, a fantastic horn player, and the keyboardist – still amazing as he was in high school.
I decided I was going to have a beer when I got there and was impressed with the list of beers on tap. I much prefer what is on tap to a bottle of beer. I looked and looked and decided to try a beer from Great Lakes Brewing Company. I had had their Christmas Ale in December at Chapter House and loved it!
I went with an Edmund Fitzgerald Porter for the evening. The first sip wasamazing. The hint of chocolate and coffee came through above the hops but the hops – I lean toward hoppy beers – taste still shone through. This is a good beer that I cannot wait to have this summer with barbeque.
OK, I want to know why you do not have a followers gadget. I want to be a follower. I want to follow anyone who knows Big Little Wolf.
Thank you for your visit. Do you have some Virgo in you someplace? I’m sure I don’t. Whatever I have rising or falling must be one of those signs that is all over the place.
Best regards,
Tish
Tish – Thank you for coming by. I am a Virgo, actually, but tend to not have Virgo tendencies in my home keeping. It has to be in me somewhere. I just think I have buried it.
I have added a subscription box if that will help you.

There really isn’t anything better than a good beer w/ anything off the grill in the summer 🙂
Corrine – I will admit I am kind of a beer snob. I like micro brews and love when they are close enough to home that I can take my growler with me. And you are definitely right! There is nothing better than a good beer and anything grilled.
You are my kind of chick–wish you were right around the corner so we could crack a few and gossip.
And…ahem…not to brag, but we have some of the best MicroBrews in the nation in my state 🙂 So you should visit sometime 🙂
I have to admit to planning trips around brew pubs. LOL!
Can I join you on your trip to visit Kitch and the microbreweries? Sounds like Corinne might want to come too…
Kristen – Maybe we can pick up Corrine on our way to TKW?
Ahem! Don’t forget me! I’m not a huge beer fan BUT am ALWAYS up for a trip to CO! I’m sure we could find a microbrewery somewhere that might also serve ummmm, champagne? If not, I’ll bring my own. Honestly, I just don’t want to be left out.
🙂
Becca – You can come visit me. We can go to a bunch of wineries in the Finger Lakes.
