I have to admit that I am a Meryl Streep fan and use to be a big Alec Baldwin fan also. After going to see “It’s Complicated” yesterday, I am not so sure about being fans of either of them any longer.
I also, willingly, admit that “It’s Complicated” was probably not the best choice for a single mom to see the first Christmas she has had free time, without children, in 13 years. In my mind, I wanted escapism and a way out of my own life. What I discovered was movies/art tend to imitate life and it is not necessarily funny or good.
While there were parts in “It’s Complicated” that were definitely funny, it is not a movie that I felt was worth my $9. I would gladly rent the movie if it were on DVD but it was not a good show to pay larger money for at a theatre.
While Meryl Streep shows us that aging is a wonderful thing and that it can be done with grace, Alec Baldwin shows us that men need to be careful to take care of themselves. I found looking at his partially or fully naked body a true deterrent to the entire movie.
While others may find “It’s Complicated” to be funny and an escape from reality, I did not and would not recommend seeing it.

What an honest review! I love it! It reminds me of when my Mom saw “Something’s Gotta Give” with Diane Keaton and she mostly just felt embarassed. There are definitely times when “art imitating life” is not what we need…no matter how accurate.
I so wanted to like this movie but it was just not to be.
I want to give a big time review to Clash of the Titans. Very entertaining.
