Marbling Papers

Combining several things I am doing this year, I am reading a book called Paper Transformed by Julia Andrus. Lesson one is on marbling so off I went. I used shaving cream – the old fashioned actual cream type. Then, I put drops of dye re-inkers in the shaving cream. I took plastic forks and… Continue reading Marbling Papers

Where I Live

I was back at Green Pepper Press’s Street Team and…. what a shock! Crusade #15 is where I live. About two years ago or so, I did a round robin altered book that had this same theme. Above is both the Crusade #15 banner and the spread I did for my altered book. If I… Continue reading Where I Live

Victorian Ornament

I have to say that this was out of my comfort zone. Victorian is not my style. I don’t work in that era often and very seldom like what I do when it comes to that. This ornament is an exception. The challenge was to create something using a vintage holiday image of your choice,… Continue reading Victorian Ornament

Finished Product – Pin

As I have said before, I have been checking out Tim Holtz’s blog on a daily basis as he details and describes techniques in his “12 Tags of Christmas.” I have tried the techniques with items I have on hand and I have a lot on hand. My most successful try is the background for… Continue reading Finished Product – Pin

What I was working on….

… yesterday. Special thanks to Tim Holtz for his “12 Tags of Christmas.” The idea he used on day five gave me inspriation and the idea to make my mom a pin. I picked dominoes as they are non-porous and the Adirondack Alcohol Inks that I have had for forever it seems. The image above… Continue reading What I was working on….

The Final Installment – Ornamentally Speaking, that is

This particular image shows five ornaments I decided were the best for the swap. I really like the way they have turned out. They are on bamboo tiles and the images come from a number of stamp companies. I should have scanned them before attaching the ribbon as it makes the image messy.

Ornamentally Speaking – Take Four

This was a wonderful idea in theory. I just didn’t seem able to make it come to life the way I wanted it to. I used an old Christmas card. Backed it with cardstock and put lace around the edges. The lace does not show up good in the scan but that is okay because… Continue reading Ornamentally Speaking – Take Four

Ornamentally still – set two

I have yet to post the pic of the ornaments I sent off in the swap but am still working through getting more done to send/give to the kids. These were precut wooden shapes. They did not have lines to decide what goes where. They are done in Sharpie permanent marker.

Ornamentally speaking, my dear Watson

As part of, though sort o separate, the charm swap also has an ornament portion. I also have two adult children who will be celebrating their first Christmas in their own houses/apartments. So…I have been making ornaments. This is a circle ornament that is decoupaged with a bright green tissue paper. I really like the… Continue reading Ornamentally speaking, my dear Watson
