“I love the way that Mefford writes, seamlessly jumping between characters and time frames with no confusion, and he is extremely descriptive of the setting . You almost feel like you are watching a movie instead of reading a book!” — Hilary Mahoney, Elusive Red Tiger

A member of International Thriller Writers, John writes novels full of electrifying suspense — the same types of books he has loved to read since before he could shave.
When he’s not writing, he chases his youth on bike or a basketball court, all while making mental notes of people and societies across the land.
I love John W Mefford’s writing style. Yet, I, as a Catholic Christian – heck, I would imagine as any Christian – struggled with this book. It is graphic but most of the Ivy Nash books have been graphic in the description of crimes. It was the involvement of the church that threw me.
IN The End is the last of the Ivy Nash books. Nash is a private investigator. Her life brought her to this place. She grew up in the foster care system and then went to work for social services. When she left there, she started her own private investigation firm – ECHO – to help with finding lost children.
In this book, Ivy is approached by two parents whose daughter is missing. They will not involve the police as they are illegal immigrants and are afraid they will find their daughter and lose her all at once by being sent back to their birth country. Ivy tries and tries to explain the pluses of involving the authorities. The first hours when a child is missing are critical and the police have ways of getting the information to the public so they can help.
In the time period that Ivy is looking for this daughter, several other teens are murdered in local churches. Even this violence does not convince the father to call in the police.
Mefford has again written a book I could not put down. While it is part of a series, you can read it as a standalone and I suggest you do. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.
