NEW RELEASE……..
Touched by Love, The Remingtons #6, Love in Bloom
Fiercely independent Janie Jansen has always believed there were worse things in life than being blind, and she’s spent her life proving it. She’s moved away from her overprotective parents, built a life in New York City, and is one of the top technical editors in her company. That is, until an unfortunate accident turns her life upside down and she’s forced to give up the very independence she’s worked so hard to achieve.
Firefighter Boyd Hudson pushed past his tragic past and is weeks away from accomplishing his ultimate dream―being accepted into medical school. His intense focus on his goal while working three jobs has taken its toll. With a trail of failed relationships behind him, Boyd is painstakingly aware of his limitations and avoids girlfriends completely―a difficult task given his attraction to one of his co-workers.
When Boyd comes to Janie’s rescue, she’s forced to accept his help, and Janie discovers there’s more to the sexy-sounding office flirt than one-liners. Their connection deepens as Janie heals, but it turns out that Janie isn’t the only one who needs healing. Boyd’s painful past comes back to haunt him, threatening their relationship and forcing Boyd to reevaluate everything he knows about himself.

While my usual enjoyment of a Melissa Foster novel is the quiet island life or the gorgeous Colorado mountains, Touched by Love is mostly in New York City. I have lived most of my life in New York State but can count on one hand the number of times I’ve been to The City. It is busy, bustling and too much for me. I do not mind cities, per se, but do dislike NYC.
Janie amazes me with her ability to live in NYC after coming from Peaceful Harbor, Maryland. While she does have a close friend who lives in the apartment next door, she is almost 100% blind and that makes the idea of living in NYC a foreign concept to me. I couldn’t live there and I have sight.
The fact that Boyd comes from rural Virginia also has me wondering why these two ended up in a huge metropolitan area. I know the answer to that question now but do not want to giveaway too much of the story.
Because of their backgrounds, it is an anomaly that both Janie and Boyd would end up in NYC. Even longer odds are that they would find each other.
Foster does a wonderful job, as usual, weaving back story and current events into this book. Pick it up and get hooked on the Love in Bloom Series.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
Two lucky winners will each receive ebook Flames of Love
Ending on Sunday 26th June at 11.59pm EST
Big cities aren’t for me either, more of a country girl 😉
It sounds like Janie has your admiration for taking NYC on–I agree with you, it would be challenging even with sight. Thank you for taking the time to read and review. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! XOXO
Loved it but I know it’s a challenge with sight. 🙂
