Just my Thoughts

ISO …

… no, not a man.  At least  not in this particular post.

…no, not quality standards such as ISO 9000.  I do have some brief knowledge about these standards but haven’t worked in a field needed them in years.

I am seeking a new dress.  Over the last couple of years, I have lost a considerable amount of weight on top of a changing figure due to increased exercise and a changing diet.  I have a really nice, recently purchased black dress but do not think it is appropriate for a June wedding.  So I am off to find a new dress or a new shirt and skirt, some new outfit.

I have a few styles I like.  I love wrap dresses.  I also like a nice sheath dress.  I love brown and turquoise together.  I tend to buy earthy colors.  I am hoping to buy a dress that is not too dressy so I can actually get some wear out of it.

On top of the four photos, here are links to two dresses I love but cannot get the photos for on here.

I have found a few looks I like and have copied and pasted photos below.  What do you all think?

  1. ISO I thought you meant a setting on your digital camera!

I like the indigo dress at Coldwater Creek. I also like the salmon colored dress with the asymetrical detailing. But the brown dress with the jacket is cute, too!

    1. LOL! Good point, Rebecca! I can’t make a decision to save myself and hate going shopping without something in mind.

  2. I vote for the dress that’s top row, center, but either of the Coldwater Creek dresses would look great on you.

    Best of luck!

    1. I have one shirt that is salmon so will have to see if it looks good on me or not. I usually go with blues.

    1. Well, I like the turquoise jacket one but have to see it in person, I think, to decide if I can wear it to both the wedding and reception.

  3. I vote for the salmon or blue. I like the brown one for a more work-type event. I love the colors of the turqoise one and the theory behind the layering, but that little bolero jacket looks a little dated to me.

    1. I like the salmon one but am, strangely, really drawn to the blue the more I look at them.

  4. Another vote for the salmon dress! I think the sash under the bust is a universally flattering detail. And good for you for treating yourself to something new. With all the work you put into your physical conditioning, you really deserve it!

  5. I like the two from Coldwater Creek. They are a bit more “timeless” so you’d probably wear them for longer. Plus you can call the local CWC and ask them to order it if it is only avail online and then go in and try it on-I assume the cut will be flattering but it’s always best to actually SEE it on.
