Okay, I work in the political arena. I have heard the stories of opponents registering the other candidate’s name as a website domain. I have heard stories of opponents looking for dirt on other candidates. Today, I saw the proof in the pudding.
A website had been wiped out. Seems, according to the candidate, a former campaign employee was going to run against him and had take information from when he was working with the candidate and used it in the ultimate revenge. All pages on the site were gone.
Now, I understand that everyone is in a campaign to win. No one enters a campaign thinking I will just do this because it looks like fun. But does anyone enter a campaign thinking if I can manage to pull over the biggest nasty on the other guy I can beat him? Does anyone enter a campaign thinking that the opponent doesn’t at least deserve a bit of respect? Does anyone enter a campaign thinking that the opponent is not only a moron but doesn’t deserve items he or the campaign has paid for?
