Fa La La …

The holiday season is upon us. You can expect a few upcoming posts on crafts for the holidays, recipes that are always on my Christmas table, ideas to make your gift giving easier, and traditions I like to carry on. Monday I put together my tree. I love having an artificial tree. Having been a… Continue reading Fa La La …

More Marbling

I finally received my book – Paper Transformed by Julia Andrus in the mail.  The more I read about marbling, the more I was sure I wanted to use some of the other supplies I have around to marble additional papers.   I have mordant mixed up so that is not a problem.  Both boys had… Continue reading More Marbling

Button Swap

So maybe the background on this ATC (artist trading card) looks familiar to you. I did write about it in a workshop I am doing – marbling. The workshop is based on Julia Andrus’s book Paper Transformed. I used denim, espresso and eggplant to create what I was hoping would look like a stormy sky… Continue reading Button Swap

Victorian Ornament

I have to say that this was out of my comfort zone. Victorian is not my style. I don’t work in that era often and very seldom like what I do when it comes to that. This ornament is an exception. The challenge was to create something using a vintage holiday image of your choice,… Continue reading Victorian Ornament

Finished Product – Pin

As I have said before, I have been checking out Tim Holtz’s blog on a daily basis as he details and describes techniques in his “12 Tags of Christmas.” I have tried the techniques with items I have on hand and I have a lot on hand. My most successful try is the background for… Continue reading Finished Product – Pin

What I was working on….

I picked dominoes as they are non-porous and the Adirondack Alcohol Inks that I have had for forever it seems. The image above… Continue reading What I was working on….

The Final Installment – Ornamentally Speaking, that is

This particular image shows five ornaments I decided were the best for the swap. I really like the way they have turned out. They are on bamboo tiles and the images come from a number of stamp companies. I should have scanned them before attaching the ribbon as it makes the image messy.

Ornamentally still – set two

I have yet to post the pic of the ornaments I sent off in the swap but am still working through getting more done to send/give to the kids. These were precut wooden shapes. They did not have lines to decide what goes where. They are done in Sharpie permanent marker.

Ornamentally still – set three

Still not the swap items but these are ceramic casts. I bought them ages ago and used Sharpies to color them in also. I am much better with a Sharpie than a paint brush.

It’s A Charmed Life, Part 2

I have mailed off the actual charms that are going to be used for the swap I am in but I am slowly putting out there my initial attempts. This particular view I call “Charms Gone Bad.” I forgot which side I wanted to put the image on the shrink plastic for a couple so… Continue reading It’s A Charmed Life, Part 2
