Friday Fun

With a quick nod to Momalom.com and to Bad Mommy Moments, I wanted to post photos from Friday’s Happy Hour at Chapter House in Ithaca.  I frequently head over to this bar on Fridays to hang out with friends and meet new people.  I will say that yesterday the bar area was seriously packed when my daughter and I got there.  They had been opening at 2 pm for the 2:30 pm World Cup games.   After all, what is more !!! than a summer Friday evening spent with friends.

Not only did I get to meet Cindy for the first time, I later found out it was Steve and Judy’s 27th wedding anniversary.  On top of that, their youngest – Allen who was not with us as he is not old enough to get into this particular establishment – is graduating from high school today.  That is a lot of !!! in one weekend.

It’s Over!

Yes, there are still parties to come.  For the most part, though, it is OVER!!!

Ben’s graduation was last Friday.  His graduation party was last night.  I may be exhausted but it is a happy exhaustion.  Below are pics – well, not of the party as I never picked the camera up once people started showing up, but of the set up.

Graduation 2009

Maine-Endwell Central School District graduated the Class of 2009 last night.  The past week has been a blur of activity for the senior class as they have gone from prom to senior trips – two day trips – to senior awards night to graduation.

Last evening we heard from five members of the Class of 2009 – four in prepared remarks and one in song.  It was a wonderful celebration of the last 13 years of the lives of these young people and a send off to a new beginning.

It’s A New Year…

… it’s another milestone.

I just made reservations in Niagara Falls for Graduation Weekend at Niagara University.  Granted this is not my first child to graduate from college.  This is the first of my six who has indicated any preference about walking in commencement.

Elise will graduate May 17th, 2009 with a degree in English and elementary education.  If any of you out there that read this know of teacher openings for the fall of 2009, let me know.

I will be heading to Niagara on May 15th.  That evening we will have a little party for Elise at her apartment which she swears is not on campus – but it really is.  Saturday is the Baccalaureate Mass and then a gala at the Castellani Art Museum on campus.  Sunday is the undergraduate graduation ceremony at UB’s Alumni Arena.

Graduation Art Weekend

I know it will seem late to a lot of you but the graduation season has started here and that means congratulatory cards for many.  I have been known, since my oldest graduated from high school five years ago, as the one who makes all the cards.  I have gotten lazy, lost instructions for various pieces I like to use and resorted – due to lack of time - to a bought card every now and then.

This year’s first entry is the first card in the gallery.  The rest are either cards or announcements from previous years.
