New Music

I use to – last year for a few months – pay to listen to Yahoo! Radio.  I liked that I could skip songs when I wanted, no limits.  As Christmas approached and my teenaged kids wanted things like  Wii games and iPod nanos, I needed the extra four dollars a month so went to the free version of Yahoo! Radio.  I still turn it on every now and then.

Occasionally, when I go to turn on my station, I am intrigued by either album offerings that are not available yet – Early Edition – or videos.  Today it was an Early Edition that caught my eye, or should I say my ear.

I have spent the last bit of time listening to NCIS:  The Official TV Soundtrack.  I have only ever been really enthralled by a couple of series’ soundtracks.  One Tree Hill on the CW is one of my favs.  I didn’t know whether I would like this or not but I do love the NCIS soundtrack.  None of the music is really running music – which I am always looking for – but it is good.  I will look for this album after its Feb 10 release date.

You can give it a listen at http://new.music.yahoo.com/programs/earlyedition/, although I am not sure how long it will stay there.

Valentine ATCs

I joined a Valentine ATC swap on Facebook.  It is the first swap on Facebook that I have joined.  I finished these off but haven’t scanned them yet.  What I am posting are camera pictures – which, for some reason, seem to be blurring today.  Not sure on that but will get a scan of one of the eight I made soon and add that to the post.

The first step was a background.  I decided to use a shaving cream background.  I used Stampin’ Up! Pretty in Pink and Passion Pink re-inkers for the color.

Then, I realized that the ATCs were rolling up so I had to flatten them out.  Out came the ironing board, a linen tea towel and the iron.  This also heat sets the ATCs.

Next was trying to figure out what to put on the ATCs.  I knew that I wanted to use some cupcake picks that I had received in a swap a year or so ago.  Did I want to stamp on the ATC?  I have these two foam stamps that are conversation hearts but they never leave a good image.  I tried them on two ATCs but didn’t like the images they were producing so went back to my original thought – die cuts.

I had borrowed my girlfriend’s Sizzix some time ago and did a mess of die cuts.  I used red primitive hearts on the ATCs and then put the cupcake picks.
