Michelle Ward and Green Pepper Press’s Street Team lists monthly crusades. This month’s crusade is to create a journal kit. I am sure, since it is still early in the month, there will be more posts on this but here are the startings of my journal kits.
My mother made me this bag. It is the basis for my journal kit. It ties at the top and has velcro along both sides. It opens flat.
In my journal kit, I have some 9×12 inch paper. I also have 12×12 inch paper. I have four magazines. I have a journal, which is an altered composition notebook from a swap last year. I have a water pen and my Peerless watercolors. I also have a pen and highlighter, a cutter, a pair of scissors, and a glue stick. There is even room for more.

Then, I am lucky to have a second, small kit that was also made by my mom. She calls it a tool kit. Here it is shut.
It came filled with tools – a ruler, a small Olfa rotary cutter and a self-healing mat.

Nicki – thanks for joining in the Crusade. Looking at your kits I’m reminded I should get my cutting mat tucked into mine. I do alot of work on clipboard so that sometimes doubles as a cutting mat, but those little ones are really good too.

Hi Nicki,
nice bags your mum made! Specially like the tool bag, being so neat and handy. And even without fabulous stitching skills I think I am able to make that. Great ideas are simple, but yet the best!

How great to have something personally made for you by your mom. What a wonderful way to build an art kit.

Your mom is straight from heaven! How perfect both pieces are! Would she consider ever making and selling? I have a sewing machine I got last October which I am still scared to death of. Thanks for the glimpse into your very well organised highly totable life.
